Press Release: Brace Canyon Ballfield Stakeholder Meeting

Burbank, CA (November 3, 2022) – On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 6:00 p.m.  – 7:30 p.m. the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (Department) will be hosting a virtual stakeholders meeting to discuss the Brace Canyon Ballfield Improvements.

The Department has retained the services of Citadel EHS, an environmental, health, and safety consulting firm (Consultant) to perform a comprehensive analysis of the options being considered for the turf replacement of the Brace Canyon Ballfields. The in-depth analysis will include several components such as: a Life Cycle Assessment over a ten-year period, Triple Bottom Line Analysis, field usability, material health considerations, water use, effects on runoff, maintenance and on-going costs.   

Members of the public are invited to attend the Brace Canyon Ballfield Stakeholder Meeting. 

Following this stakeholders meeting, the Consultant will be making presentations at the November 10, 2022, Parks and Recreation Board meeting and the November 14, 2022 Sustainable Burbank Commission meeting. Lastly, the Department and Consultant will be presenting a final recommendation of the preferred surface type for the Brace Canyon Ballfields to the Burbank City Council on December 6, 2022.
