Road Closure for City Hall Fountain Vault Installation Saturday, June 28, 2025
Burbank, CA (June 24, 2025) — The City of Burbank has begun restoration work on the historic City Hall Fountain. This project, which started in May 2025 and is slated for completion by the end of July 2025, will restore the fountain’s original character while addressing long-term structural needs.
On Saturday, June 28th, from 4:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the two westbound lanes on Olive Avenue from San Fernando Road to Third Street (in front of City Hall) will be closed to traffic to allow the installation of a subterranean vault using a crane. To help maintain traffic flow, a temporary westbound lane will be established in the middle lane. The adjacent parking lane and sidewalk in front of City Hall will also be closed. The vault installation is critical for the project to be completed by July 31st.
Community members are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible as the City works to restore a landmark of Burbank’s civic history.
