Trail Safety Information

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT - Temperatures in the area are predicted to be at or above 100 degrees beginning Wednesday, September 4 through the remainder of the week. Please review the hiking in hot weather reccomendations below and remain safe while visiting the trails. 

Please read the trail safety and excessive heat recommendations before hiking Burbank's trails.

  • Hiking is not recommended when trailhead temperature exceeds 95 degrees. There may be risk of heat related illness; avoid use of trail during the warmest parts of the day.
  • There is no water available on the trail - please be prepared and pack plenty of water with you.
  • Do not bring dogs or other pets on the trail during excessive heat warnings.
  • Wear a hat, use sunscreen, and dress in light layers when appropriate. The trails offer little or no shade.
  • Stay on maintained trails and be aware of wildlife and rattlesnakes.
  • Take a cell phone with a charged battery. Note: Limited celluar service on the trail.
  • Inform family or friends that you are hiking on the trail and your expected return time.
