Visit Burbank Brings Monumental Richard Orlinski Sculptures to Downtown Burbank

Free Open-Air Exhibition Runs May 12 to July 21 on the AMC Walkway, Coinciding with the Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at Downtown Burbank

Burbank, CA (April 30, 2026) – Preparations are underway for the installation of a new public art experience in Downtown Burbank. This summer, the AMC Walkway will be transformed into an open-air gallery featuring seven monumental sculptures by French neo-pop artist Richard Orlinski, on display from May 12 through July 21, 2026. Presented by Visit Burbank, the Downtown Burbank x Richard Orlinski Exhibition will be free and open to the public.
This large-scale exhibition marks Orlinski's Burbank debut. In 2004, he created his first public work, a red resin crocodile, which initiated his now-iconic Born Wild series: bold, faceted animal forms that fuse pop-art energy with cubist geometry, rendered in vivid, saturated colors. With more than 200 gallery and public installations worldwide including the Grand Palais in Paris, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and the National Art Center in Tokyo, Orlinski has become one of the most-exhibited sculptors working today.

Burbank now joins these cultural destinations. Recognized as the Media Capital of the World and home to Warner Bros. Discovery, The Walt Disney Company, and more than 1,000 entertainment companies, Burbank has been on the cutting edge of film, television, and music for more than a century, and remains so today. The AMC Walkway in Downtown Burbank, flanked by more than 600 shops and restaurants and anchored by the top-grossing AMC Burbank 16, places the sculptures directly in the path of one of the most engaged creative communities in the world, encountered up close, on foot, and for free.

"The Downtown Burbank Richard Orlinski Exhibition is exactly the kind of cultural experience that defines our city," said Tamala Takahashi, Mayor of the City of Burbank. "Public art plays an important role in bringing people together, and this exhibition will give our community a shared space for creativity and connection. It reflects Burbank’s commitment to celebrating the arts and creating vibrant places where we can gather and engage."

The seven works displayed on the AMC Walkway will include:

  • A 12-foot Standing Bear of stainless steel with a striking open-lattice structure that refracts sunlight in every direction, giving the impression of a creature woven from light and air.
  • A rearing Horse in luminous orange resin, frozen mid-leap at more than 10 feet tall, shifting its faceted geometry with every step taken around it.
  • A roaring Lion in Tour de France yellow and spanning 11 feet brings the electric charge of Orlinski's most celebrated palette to the Burbank streetscape.
  • A Crocodile in Orlinski Red resin, stretching 17 feet with jaws wide open, anchors one end of the walkway with equal parts menace and joy.
  • A prowling Wild Cat in luminescent turquoise blue completes the walk, sleek, geometric, and quietly otherworldly, as if it has always belonged here.
  • A Wild Kong gorilla embodies raw power and presence with its angular form and high-gloss finish transforms primal strength into a striking, contemporary pop-art statement.
  • A Howling Wolf channels the mystique of the wild, balancing instinct and refinement to transform a fleeting moment into an awe-inspiring spectacle.

The exhibition will open May 12 and run through July 21, encompassing the Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone at Downtown Burbank on July 18 and 19, two days that will bring tens of thousands of international visitors into the city's vibrant Downtown. The Downtown Burbank x Richard Orlinski Exhibition will give residents and visitors a further reason to linger, explore, and share what they find. It is also a preview of an event-filled future for the city: the new Hollywood Burbank Airport terminal opens in October 2026, Super Bowl LXI arrives in 2027, and the LA28 Summer Olympics follow the year after.

The exhibition builds on the success of the Elephant Parade 2024, Visit Burbank's landmark public art initiative that wove large-scale sculpture into the city's streets and demonstrated how art can strengthen community identity, attract visitors, and drive economic activity. The Richard Orlinski exhibition raises the scale and the global profile of that ambition.
