City of Burbank Launches New Streamlined Film Permit Application Process

Burbank, CA (October 20, 2026) – The City of Burbank has launched a new, streamlined film permitting process, making it easier and more efficient for production companies and applicants to submit film permit applications and access related resources.

As part of this transition, all film permitting information, resources, and applications have been consolidated onto the City's website at www.burbankca.gov/FilmBurbank, replacing the previously used FilmBurbankCA.com website.

The City's OpenGov permitting portal, available through burbankca.gov/FilmBurbank, will now serve as the platform for submitting film permit applications, offering a more centralized and user-friendly experience for applicants. To get started, applicants need to create an account through the new OpenGov portal. This quick step applies to everyone, including those who have applied for film permits in Burbank.

This transition reflects the City's continued commitment to supporting Burbank's film and entertainment industry by improving access to City services, modernizing processes, and making it easier for productions to film in Burbank.
