The Project site is zoned R-4 High Density Residential and is currently improved with 14 residential units that would be demolished as part of this Project. 
Public Meetings
  • May 9, 2018 – Community Meeting – An in-person community meeting was held to present the project and receive feedback from members of the public.
  • January 7, 2019 – Planning Board Hearing – At this meeting the Planning Board considered an appeal to the Community Development Director’s approval of the project. The Planning Board denied the appeal, thus approving the project.
  • April 30, 2019 – City Council Hearing #1 – At this meeting the City Council considered an appeal to the Planning Board’s approval of the project. The City Council continued the item to the May 21, 2019 City Council Meeting.
  • May 21, 2019 – City Council Hearing #2 – At this meeting the City Council considered an appeal to the Planning Board’s approval of the project. The City Council denied the appeal, thus approving the project.

The Project qualifies for a categorical exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in accordance with Section 15332 of the State CEQA Guidelines for infill development within urbanized areas.
