Coyote Awareness

Coyotes are wildlife indigenous to the Verdugo Mountains adjacent to Burbank. They are adaptable animals and learn to live comfortably alongside humans. As such sightings are common in neighboring residential areas. Read below for more information on coexisting with coyotes.

Mindful consideration of the safety recommendations will ensure that the beautiful Verdugo mountains continue to be shared harmoniously by both people and wildlife.

Burbank Parks and Recreation operates and maintains a total of 41 parks and facilities. Included are 27 parks, 15 ball fields, 4 recreation/community centers, 2 older adult centers, 1 performing art theater, 2 swimming pools, a skate/BMX park, a roller hockey rink, a tennis center, an 18-hole golf course, an outdoor amphitheater, and a nature center.
