This July, tell us your Parks and Recreation story!

Every person has a story to tell about how Parks and Recreation has made an impact on their lives.

Every park has a history made up of thousands of stories that define it.

Parks and Recreation is at the center of our collective experiences and memories — often as the first experiences to nature, an introduction to sports, arts & culture, and healthy lifestyles, ways of connecting with community, opportunities to build lifelong skills, and where we continue to make everlasting memories across generations.

Our beautiful parks provide safe and welcoming spaces to gather with friends and family, sites to celebrate life’s special moments, spots of respite and healing, places that connect us with diverse recreational opportunities and essential services, and community hubs for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Since 1925, Burbank Parks and Recreation has held true to its mission as the heart of the community by providing enriching opportunities through dedicated people, beautiful parks, and inspiring programs. Over the years, we have heard countless stories about your favorite moments at the park, out in nature, on the court or on the ball field, in the pool, out experiencing art, and in your community.

Our shared experiences make up a strong, vibrant, and resilient Burbank.

Let’s celebrate our shared stories!

Since 1985, July is celebrated across the nation as Parks and Recreation Month. The City of Burbank,  together with the National Recreation & Park Association (NPRA), recognizes the power of parks and recreation to promote building strong, vibrant and resilient communities.
