Rusty Riders Adult Bicycle Education

The City of Burbank’s Community Development Department Transportation Division invites members of the community to join Rusty Riders Burbank, a class offered through the Burbank Parks and Recreation Department.
Rusty Riders is a class designed for people, especially older adults, who haven’t ridden a bike in a long time or who want a safe environment to rebuild their confidence. The class will help participants develop the skills to feel comfortable riding a bike again and to have fun riding around town. Topics covered include:

•    Equipment basics, safety checks, and introduction to e-bikes
•    Handling skills and hazard avoidance maneuvers
•    Traffic safety, rider etiquette, and sharing the road with motorists

This class is not for complete beginners; participants must have some experience riding a bike. A bike is not required to register for the class; options for those without their own bikes and helmets will be provided. Classes occur on Saturdays from 9 a.m. -11 a.m., from September 12 – October 3. To register, click here, or visit burbankparks.com and search “Rusty Riders.”
