Pipers Pals

Pipers Pals

Pipers Pals is an inclusive adaptive sports program through the City of Burbank Parks & Recreation Department that gives athletes with disabilities the chance to participate in organized team sports. The goal of the program is to remove barriers and create a welcoming environment where all children can experience the joy of being part of a team.

What makes this program unique is that it is kids coaching kids. Middle and high school students serve as youth coaches and buddy players, working alongside trained adult volunteers to support athletes in a fun, non-competitive setting. This peer-to-peer model builds confidence, teamwork, leadership, and meaningful friendships for athletes and coaches alike. Games are designed to be enjoyable and inclusive, emphasizing participation and belonging. Athletes of all ability levels are supported so they can play, contribute, and be part of a team in a safe, positive environment.

Become a Player

Athletes with disabilities who want to be part of Pipers Pals can register through the City’s recreation system. Players participate in league play with support from youth and adult coaches.

Become a Coach or Buddy Player
