Los Angeles World Cup Legacy Program 


The City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department is honored to be chosen as one of the 26 Community Champions for the Los Angeles World Cup Legacy Program. This program recognizes local non-profit and municipal organizations that are using the game of soccer to empower, uplift, and drive meaningful change throughout the Los Angeles region.


2026 Burbank Adaptive Sports Expo 

The Burbank Adaptive Sports Expo celebrates athletes of all abilities and features upwards to 20 different adaptive sports lead by various coaches, organizations, and volunteers throughout Southern California. The event also hosts a robust vendor and resource fair connecting attendees to various organizations

The City of Burbank’s leadership in adaptive and inclusive recreation was recently recognized with the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence, a prestigious statewide honor recognizing innovation, impact, and best practices in local government. 
Registration for the event is free and includes a lunch. The first 300 registrants will recieve an event t-shirt and giveaway bag. To register for the event, visit www.burbankparks.com
Volunteer registration for this year’s Burbank Adaptive Sports Expo is now open, and we invite you to sign up for a shift that fits your interests and availability.

Below you will find important information regarding volunteering this year:

Event date and location
  • February 21, 2026 at McCambridge Park

Volunteer Shifts
  • 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM | Event Set-Up
Duties may include:
  • Unloading sport equipment
  • Adaptive sport set-up
  • Opening ceremony set-up
  • General event set-up
 
  • 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM | Event Volunteer
    Duties may include:
  • Assistance with gym sports
  • Assistance with tennis & pickleball sports
  • Assistance with field sports
  • General volunteer support

All volunteers that register will be provided lunch.
