Wheelchair Rugby

Wheelchair rugby is played on a basketball court with four to five players per team on the court. The objective of the game is for players to hold onto a volleyball and push their wheelchair between two cones representing the opponent’s goal line. It is played in specially designed sport wheelchairs that are made for impact. Chair to chair contact is allowed for participants to prevent the opposing teams from scoring.  The ball may be passed, thrown, and handed off to teammates in order to advance the court to score. The game is designed to accommodate all ability levels and is among the fastest growing sports internationally.
